Who We Are
a few words about us
Dlala Ntombazana Development Project is a registered non-profit organization with the Department of Social Development and is fully led by the board and Executive emembers and founded by women. Our mission is to address socio-economic challenges faced by young people by harnessing the power of football.
We support schoolgirls and afterschool participants aged 8 to 35, aiming to educate, inspire, and mobilize them to overcome health issues, poverty, unemployment, and skills deficits, thereby empowering them to become agents of change in their communities. Established in 2005 and officially registered in 2007, we are dedicated to providing disadvantaged learners and after-school coaches with quality education to foster their growth as global citizens. Our accreditation by CATHSSETA allows us to offer training programs as part of our skills development and job creation initiatives.
Initially focused on women’s football, our organization has expanded to provide a range of holistic community services. We now operate in over 400 schools throughout the City of Tshwane, engaging with more than 876 elite players and over 4000 beginners. Our programs include Wednesday schools league, after-school football clubs, donations of sanitary products and food parcels, and initiatives addressing HIV, STIs, gender-based violence, drug abuse, school dropouts, teenage pregnancy, and youth unemployment.
Additionally, we offer ongoing learnership programs designed to empower and prepare our youth for job creation and placement and facilitate exchange programs within the tourism sector to broaden our impact. Our work aligns with the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Dlala Ntombazana Services is dedicated to empowering girls through a holistic development approach centered on football. At its core, the organization provides vital services, including psycho-socio support to nurture emotional well-being and youth leadership programs to cultivate confident, future-ready individuals. By fostering club development and delivering life skills training, Dlala Ntombazana equips young girls with the tools to succeed both on and off the field. The organization also focuses on football projects and capacity-building initiatives, ensuring sustainable growth for players and communities, while hosting tournaments to inspire participation and celebrate achievements.
Through its integrated model, Dlala Ntombazana Services emphasizes the transformative power of football in advancing girls’ development. Encircled by the message “Integrated girls’ development through football,” the initiative reflects its commitment to using sports as a platform for personal growth, leadership, and community building. This unique approach creates a supportive environment where girls can thrive, develop essential skills, and unlock their full potential.
